Buenzli Multimedia Festival

“Buenzli” is an annual event (a so called “demoparty”), taking place at three days during Summer in Winterthur/Switzerland. In various contests and competitions like animation, demos, realtime-movies, music, graphics, retro or game-developement, the visitors who are coming from all over Europe, compete against each other. The winners are given a whole lot of attractive prizes. Beside these contests, there's a surrounding event program with bands, visuals and entertainment. For Switzerland, “Buenzli” is the largest event of that kind and attracts around 150 visitors every year. The audience consist of students and pupils as well as employed persons or even successful business runners from various industries. Also, many visitors are working in the cultural field or are related to art.

2011

• A new year, a new location in a new town: The 20th edition of “Buenzli” took place in August. Under the new name “Demodays”, the event series are now being established in Olten.

2010

• We have performed a long demoshow at Dock18 (Rote Fabrik, Zürich) in February.
• Again in Dock 18, we were part of the ultimate C64 Night and showed recent C64 demos.
• The demoscene party “Buenzli 19” took place in August.

2009

• We were invited to present the demoscene as a community at Dock18 (Rote Fabrik, Zürich).
• The demoscene party “Buenzli 18” took place in August
• The successfull supporting action from TUM 2008 was repeated at TUM 2009.
  

2008

• Echtzeit presented the art exhibition “Wechselsaitig” in the gallery Talwegeins in Berne. Wechselsaiting is an interactive sound installation. Later the year, at Buenzli 17, the object was shown to the public again. More informationen on Wechselsaitig.
• Buenzli 17, the demoscene festival, took place in August in Winterthur.
• At “TUM 2008”, a German demoparty, Echtzeit sponsored a breakfast for all party visitors. This somewhat different idea generated really good feedback.

2007

• Members of “Echtzeit - Digitale Kultur” were involved in the organization of the demoparty “Numerica”. This event was powered by our partner demoscene.tv. More information
• “Ringvorlesung” at the high school of arts in Zurich: Andry “Unlock” Joos presents the demoscene to an audience of around 100 students and other visitors. At the end of the presentation there was a long demoshow. More information
• The Swiss demoscene festival “Buenzli 16 ” took place in August in Winterthur. With all the good productions, numerous visitors and the excellent atmosphere, this event is counted as a great success. More information
• Echtzeit utilized 2 hours of broadcast time on the radio-project “Radio Casablanca” to inspire with new and old demoscene music. More information
  

2006 and earlier

• At the impressingly large LAN-Party “Airplane 06”, we presented a long demoshow and organized a movie contest. More information
  

• In the “Digital Saloon” of the institute of new meda at the high school of arts in Zurich we showed how demos are created and what this demoscene things is all about. More information
